Can you imagine someone who merely plays computer games at home and earns almost $20,000 a month? Surprisingly, this person does exist in Korea, and 'Great Library' is him. 'Great Library' is an internet show broadcaster, and basically what he does is to play computer games and make his show by editing these videos. He is becoming more and more influential among Koreans for several following reasons; he opened a new job market, achieved success through it, and also gave laughter to many people through his show.
To begin with, Great Library became an influential figure in Korea, by opening a new job market. Great Library works as a BJ, which is a rather unfamiliar job to most of the people. It refers to people who make their own internet shows on the site called 'Afreeca TV', which can be said as the YouTube of Korea. The income of BJS relies on their viewers and the money they send to the BJs. Among all of the BJs, Great Library got attention from many people by interviewing with a lot of magazines, and also appearing on a famous talk show called 'The 19 of kang yong-seok'. His subscribers are 7million in sum, and his shows got 110million views. Because he gained interest from not only limited viewers but also many ordinary people, they got surprised by this unprecedented job called BJ. This means that Great Library actually opened a new blue ocean in the job market.
In addition, Great Library not only introduced a new job, but he achieved a great success by this job. He earned not only fame and money, but also respect from others by his success. According to an interview, he revealed that he earns nearly ₩4,000,000 by his show itself added to ₩13,000,000 from YouTube each month. It may seem a bit odd, that an ability that would normally be neglected now can be a way to gain money and also respect from people. This gave hope to people that they can succeed through various jobs, and also the belief that you can make your hobby as your job.
Last but not least, Great Library can be said as an influential figure in Korea, since he gives happiness to his viewers. For my own case, when I was studying abroad I often got lonely, and I could laugh through watching his show and this really helped me go through my hard times. Moreover, he is one of the most popular BJs and has numerous viewers. In one interview, his viewers said that they become happy after watching his show. In the past, only BJs who made violent or sexual shows could get attention, however Great Library showed that by making humorous and plain shows can get support from all kinds of viewers. He mentioned that his goal that his show is a place where the game, and viewers, and himself can co-exist with a balance.

For my own case, I was studying abroad in 2013, and since it was my first time to be apart from my friends and family I often got lonely. However, whenever I felt blue I could laugh by watching his show and forget the fact that I am thousand miles away from Korea. This really helped me go through my hard times. In one interview, his viewers said that they become happy after watching his show. In the past, only BJs who made violent or sexual shows could get attention, however Great Library showed that by making humorous shows without violence or sexuality, can get support from all kinds of viewers. He mentioned that his goal was to make his show a place where the game, viewers, and himself could co-exist with a balance.

Great Library can be said as a representative person who proved this, and by his ability that looked useless to some people, he is becoming an influential figure.
